I got a go kart from my friend to put a new motor on and give it back to him fixed
It had a Tecumseh engine (that was leaked oil all over the place I think it had a cracked case) and it is a Yerf Dog go kart
I been working the go kart with a Honda GC 160 that a neighbor donated to the cause
It was a fixed throttle engine and I (think) I made it a throttled engine
I disconnected the governor from the butterfly ( carburetor) and will do a complete governor delete
Cause I believe its the only way to make it a throttled engine
Anyway as you see this a low budget operation and I used what could other engines to make work
I been working on it for two weeks I thought I be done in 2 days thats a whole ‘nother story
So right now working with what I got
the idler screw screwed in all the way the engine wont start
If I put screwdriver between the butterfly and screw —it will start right up —the only problem is it is idling too high and engaging the clutch
I like to adjust it finely to start up and idle without engaging the clutch
But it seemed like I may have to use a longer screw
Any suggestions?
Enclosed are pictures showing how I jerri-rigged it to work and it works fine except the correct idle speed
And don’t know if the original air box will fit on there
