Honda GVC160 reassembly

Reassembling for a friend. Do I have the connecting rod orientation correct or does it need to be flipped? I had it the other way with the lines matching up near the bolts, but the splasher was hitting inside of case.

If the splasher was hitting , then the current setup must be right .
Curious how you timed the cam . As i just had one apart for no start . Luckily it was a foweled plug. But quite a surprise when finally got the valve cover pryed off .
