Horstman DXL ring

Since the Horstman DXL clutch is now pretty much a "vintage" item, I thought I would post this here:

I made a few of these for a friend of mine. They are "reverse-able" so if one of the 8-32 threaded holes gets stripped, the ring can just be flipped over for a new set of holes. I also made the ring .025" thicker than most that I've seen (which are typically stamped out of .125" material). That .025" buys almost 1 additional thread.

The 8-32 threads have been form-tapped, which creates a stronger thread than if done with a cut tap.

I made these out of 6061-TT6511 heat treated tubing, and they have been machined on all sides.

If there is enough interest, I may set up and make more. Or... if anyone wants to make them on their own, I'm happy to share the CAD model.
