Can somebody tell me from this pic I took, I inside prepped my tires. The two lines u see I believe is where the inside prep stopped if I put more or add another ounce could it possibly reach the whole surface of the tire. If so will it make the tire faster. How I know that’s the prep line, is bc I punched it inside both of those lines u see and it punched where I wanted it. U punch outside those lines it punches a lot harder can anybody tell me if I’m going in the right direction with this? I’m new to this and trying to learn and trying to make my tires a lot faster. This tire had 6 psi in it when I put it in my hot box .

I thought most people inside prepped with the valve cores out, eg. no pressure?
I may just have to try that I was taught to put the prep inside the tire then put the air pressure u run in them that maybe why I can’t get the prep to go all the way across the tire like I want it too

Unless you used a VERY minimal amount of Internal prep , If those lines are prep lines you have major problem with those tires . those lines could be when you refinished them your down pressure on the sander was less that short distance , as you got towards the shoulder or as you left the shoulder area , and slightly over heated the areas on each side of the lines .
I'd say it's at least 10 to 1 guy's roll tires on wheels air set at the pressure they will race them at .

Most likely those lines are where the tires ran on the roller. You'd never be able to tell where prepped ran from the inside of the tire.

How much internal was used and how much is a lot different on the duro?
I just looked closer at the pictures , I'd say ABR nailed it there just where the tires hit the roller as there right on the high spot .

Especially if you pay attention to the LF on the far left, it has a wider line right in the center of the tire that is the high spot on the tire. I see it a lot on tires, and the way those Maxxis are cut I'd say that's the most likely culprit.

Definitely cut, shouldn't be enough to really affect the duro. But, generally from dot to dot is where you'd measure anyway. I don't tend to worry about anything much outside the dots, besides wear.

I can tell you this, when I'm cutting Maxxis where those lines are about 1" outside the dots is about where I start my cuts, and end my cuts. Some tires have dips worse than others, I don't shoot to get them flat, just minimize that dip some.

On the right sides (pinks) I put 3oz
The left rear I put 2 oz
The left front I put 1oz
Do I need to go more ?

Makes sense but u punch them from those two lines on that one tire it’s reading 53 on the duro (from line to line, where I’m thinking the prep is , u duro outside those lines that ur saying is where the roller is touching them it’s punching 60 these tires have never been cut and i have only 2 races on them

The lines are from the roller itself, the reason it duros more outside those lines is you are punching the shoulder of the tire, or edge, and its reading harder and thats typical. Less rubber, chords, etc. may be reason for this. Lines have absolutely zero to do with the internal prep itself.

Thank u and yea I’m new to this and I appreciate the input just a learning curve I guess 🤣
