What are or do you guys do with the belt driven side of the MX engines...

Guess what I am getting at... is do you guys cover the belt side up to avoid rocks getting in?
Or do you just leave it open and pray rocks don’t get in and chew up the belt?

Thx

Reason I ask is because there is always small pebbles and such on the track on any given night...
And also the RR tire throwing mud up on belt...

I have had small rocks poke holes in the belt and it still stayed on. Ran the same belts for tons of races . if you lose the belt something is not lined up right . pretty much bullet proof. I ran same belt on jawa for two years and on a gm and it was used when i got it.

Thx guys...
Mud, stones, rocks sticks...

I made a plastic cover to have the belt and pulleys all enclosed...
But if you guys say it’s not needed... I can just take it off...

On a two stroke the main issue for belts is heat under cautions. Some tracks don't understand you can't keep running two strokes under caution for 10 laps before starting the race without hurting clutch, spark plug or something else.
