I’m definitely not an expert on the motor side of things but I have mixed 1/2 gas 1/2 methanol on a stock motor, and went up a couple jet sizes and it seemed to run fine. Maybe idled alittle high, but was curious why It wouldn’t work just re jetting itIts not just a jet change
What would you suggest for additional changes ?Its not just a jet change
You want twice the area of the jet, square it, multiply by two, then find the square root. Ex: if on a .038 gas jet, .038 x .038= .001444, x 2= .002888, square root is .0537401. So try a .054 and tune from thereDoes anyone have a good starting point for taking a stock NKA clone converting from gas to methanol on jetting?
Thank you
A jet is not two dimensional, the equation you’re referring to is Pi x R squared x height.Your formula is off. It is Pi x R squared..
Im sure your right . My guess woulda been a .060 .I stand behind it, have done it many times. If you have a .038 in it for gas, put a .054 in it for methanol, prove me wrong
You aren’t wrong in the fact that it will work. However, there are other changes that need to be done to make it perform at it bestI stand behind it, have done it many times. If you have a .038 in it for gas, put a .054 in it for methanol, prove me wrong
You are confusing area with volume.A jet is not two dimensional, the equation you’re referring to is Pi x R squared x height.
Very true Don, but that wasn’t his questionYou aren’t wrong in the fact that it will work. However, there are other changes that need to be done to make it perform at it best
So for fun i used this formula at 2.5 times the fuel .You want twice the area of the jet, square it, multiply by two, then find the square root. Ex: if on a .038 gas jet, .038 x .038= .001444, x 2= .002888, square root is .0537401. So try a .054 and tune from there
I am sure that if he goes down that road it won’t be long before he is looking for that info lolVery true Don, but that wasn’t his question
As it turns out a .054 is 101.94 %. Larger in area .I stand behind it, have done it many times. If you have a .038 in it for gas, put a .054 in it for methanol, prove me wrong
