KT100 on a Rival?

I have an opportunity to pick up a new Ultramax Rival chassis and a used Yamaha KT100 locally. Is/has anyone run that setup? I've searched and haven't found that pairing yet and am concerned if it's even possible. The drum is oriented towards the outside of the kart and I'm concerned if there's enough room for the rear gear in between the right rear axle bearing and wheel hub. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

You're best bet is to use a jackshaft, especially if it's a small track. Buller has a very flexible system and their customer service has been great.

Agreed. Especially if dirt oval racing.
It is a fun engine , much like a Flathead te value is way down.

Interesting concept, I didn't know what a jackshaft was prior to research this morning. Thank you both for the input. I'll also be able to pick up a Horstman DXL. Do you run the clutch from the engine crank to the jackshaft, or from the jackshaft to the axle?

Engine to jackshaft then jackshaft to axle.
That keeps the sprocket in the normal location.
Most use belt drive on the engine and clutch on the jackshaft.
