For those that followed along with my old thread on bob's I just wanted to post it up here with a few updates. Most recent pics here.

All the old video and photo's plus a few new ones. Laying in bed can't sleep like a kid on Christmas. Will be heading to the track for points award banquet later this morning.. It's 1:30am.... But, I have my brand new to me GoPro Hero3 black to take my very first open race up a notch. So either way; good or bad it will be remembered forever.
Not to mention a good ole flathead limited only race going on as well. Running it today too!

Anyway, there will be a few new pics uploaded from today at the track and a few of the just finished pics from last weekend up on my Photobucket link below. Hopefully adding some new video to the list as well!

Picture link sort of follows the build, from the day I brought her home in a box till today.

Thanks Dino, sorry I haven't got in touch with you lately. Been a hectic past few weeks! My last rain was canceled at Boonville. So I didn't have any news to report to you and crazy things going on other than that.

My kart has the same motor 2006 KTM 450 , I first put in on a dirt kart Ultramax and I was bending axle from the torque , so I remove it and found a Trackmagic Diablo shifter kart with front brakes all Bembos and this kart has 4 bearings on axle . Never had any issue after that. If I can find out how to post pic's , I will post them. yes , I race it on dirt tracks (RWYB) races and also asphalt.

I'm in Columbia, we ran out at BeaverCreek yesterday. Things turned out a lot different, 9 opens there, 7 or 8 finished. One popped on the last lap dropping in 3. He was leading the race and coasted still finishing second!

But, handling went pretty ill on mine. I was so tight I couldn't drive the kart, finished the race but it was very hard to drive.

I watched a video Joe Davidson took of your 450 running out at Dawgwood a few weeks back. Looked real good!
I need to re-gear mine, it's so snappy getting on the throttle. I know I have to really settle down and drive it. But, it's so hard to control the throttle and be smooth and keep it in a straight line when it's so snappy.

Also, my axle has held up so far. But, a fellow racer suggested I go with a shifter kart axle in mine with the bigger bearings. So I figured I'd look into that this winter.

Yeah, pretty sure that's what he said. He was going to check and see what he had left. If he doesn't have one I'm probably going with the 40mm thick wall with the big bearings.

You will be sorry with the 40 mm go with the 50mm Hard axle and be done with it and also add another bearing hanger with the new bearing on the left side of the axle gear. Been there, Done that

how big is the track? looked good i got you with a lap time of 13.40? not sure how accurate that is by watching the video with a stop watch :)

I haven't really had any problems, so I figured the 40mm would be fine. The guy said he thinks the 50 would be too much.
Either way putting big bearings in. It's all coming apart for the most part this winter anyway.
I was thinking of putting clamshells and big bearing with just a third bearing. But, I'm thinking just 40mm axle and no third bearing. Guy at the track said it causes more problems than it's worth. Just put a 40mm axle and big bearings. I'll just have to do some research.
And, the track is about a 1/5th mile.

I ask Rodney if he would run an open again at dawgwood this weekend. If he does you should come down and race. That was the karts first race and we were pleased with how it done. We have some tweaking to do but it drove pretty good. We got to get it right for thunder.
