Im running a kt 100 on a tight dirt bull ring with the L-2 , it pull great at the start and end of the straights but has a dead stot in the middle , is this normal for this pipe ?

we used to have the same problem with my bullet pipe. The L2 is very much like my bullet pipe, except that it has straight sided cones and my bullet used parabolic curves cones.
We found that if we set the carb on the high at 1/4 to closed and the low from 2.0 to 2.5, depending on the air density and the EGT reading, we could tune that flat spot out.

Jack the flex is 7.5 " , also im running a tilly 360a -- low 1 1/4 high 1 to 1 1/8 the egt ran about 1050 air temp that day was about 50 . I read another post saying if you open up the low that it could help , what do you guys think about that info ? On another note I have done a little porting and a few other mods with info I received from both Jack and Al , the guys I race with only see the back of my kart , so I want you to know I really value your advice . Thanks

If the L2 is similar to the curve of the A2 which it probably is then yes the dyno curve I've seen does show a dip in the middle. I'm a big fan of the
L3 for just that reason.

You state u've did SOME porting & OTHER mods like what Exactly ? IMHO - Depending on just what & how much & what u report back perhaps if ultra mild switch over to a G2 or maybe a KBDO depending & if its a little more OPEN than I might guess (a real port job, cut pistons, lifted exhaust ports & a 10.5cc or less combustion chamber etc..) then by all means stick a KB06 on there with a modded walboro w3ba, modded ibea 24mm, brionni, or a tilly 360a with some 110 octane or atomized alky @ .010 BTDC additional timing & hold on bc u gonna put a world of hurt on some kt100 competition. Welcome to the "Hurt Locker" - JMHO :)

I had that same problem with my bullet pipe. This is what I did; I built a pipe with a bullet converging cone and a straight sided diverging cone. It cures the bullet pipe midrange flat spot. I gave this pipe to a guy running our track, a short dirt oval, with minimal straightaway. And he picked up 0.20 seconds per lap.
