Looking for input on GX340 build

I have a stock GX340 I am thinking about building a mild open out of. Is it worth putting effort and money into or is the 390 a much better option? Any input is appreciated
 
Hi, if your 340 is the early design with the 2.0 mm rings, then don't go any further then. Either bore it or get a 390 block which will give you better options as far as rings and pistons oem or aftermarket. All else is the same such as the crank,rod,flywheel and head.
 
The latter 340 ut2 engines are actually a 390 cc. Check the front of the block. Hope this helps...
