LR Weight?

Is there any theory to how much weight should exactly be on the left rear? I read a setup sheet saying take the right side weight x left side %= how much weight should be on LR and adjust cross to obtain this. Does this have any truth or effect or is this just over thinking it?

Thanks for any responses.

Would't work across the board, cross depends on chassis design, year and model, plus what's to say the right side weight and left side % is correct ( perfect ) to come up with correct ( perfect ) cross. Was this theory for dirt oval only ?

I put those crieria in a phenom setup and came up with 98 lbs on the left rear. The 66% cross setup shows 154 .
Funny thing the right side weight is 168.8 .
Seems like i have heard50 lbs heavier then the rr before . Still pretty low at 109 .
Had to get too 38% cross to hit 98# that put 132 on the left front .

This is what I was referring too.

Ten 4 lots of good info in there . A couple things I don't agree with or misunderstand .
Still its gotta be 15 mybe 20 years old cross#s have changed a lot .
My example was at 400 lbs total wieght .46.5 nose 58 left 38/66 cross .
Better i think to have cross 5% more then left as a guess .
