Not really wanting to ship my block out.does anyone know of any machine shops in and around the atlanta area for boring and decking work.
 
Which ever way you go a dedicated kart shop is the only way to go.
A standard machine shop is not what you want.

put the block in a $13.95 flat rate box and ship it USPS. Not worth wasting time trying to find someone when JRPW, Dyno Cams, Checkerd Flag, BCR, Arc just to name a few that can have you hooked up in a very short time professionally.... They do this every day, you cant replace experience LOL
 
I strongly recommend Brian and his team 30 years of experience and amazing customer service!
We still do a LOT of machining on flatheads (complete engines or bare blocks.)
We'd be glad to help you with machine work.
