Maxxis Air Pressure

We have always run Burris tires in the past, and are new to running Maxxis. We are running 9.00 Pinks.

If you go up on air pressure in a Maxxis will it free the kart up?
or
Does adding air make the tire come in faster and bite more, tightening the kart up?

In my experience higher pressure frees up the kart. Too low of pressure can make the tire have too much grip and heat up to quick.
