Saturday January 11th is going to be the biggest day of racing at George County Motorsports Park in 2020 as the Michael Beasley Memorial race promoted by Double C Promotions will hit the track.

This event will honor the life of Michael Beasley who passed away November 16th at the age of 31 and was well known throughout the racing community.

"We want this race to be one of the biggest kart races on the gulf coast for the Beasley family and their many friends. Our goal is to make every race a can’t miss race for each division,” said track owner Scott Albritton.

In addition to the racing there will be an auction of some NASCAR memorabilia among other items that GCMS will go live with on Facebook for those that can't be there.

"This race will be special for the family, the drivers and the fans and I think that we will have a strong turnout of people wanting to honor Michael's life," said Double C Promotions Promoter Chris Carter. "Beasley lived and breathed racing. His whole family does as well, both of his brothers race, his dad is a tech guy and his mom is one of the best scorers on the planet. He had a smile that could light up any room he walked in and he could do anything at any track whether it was flagging or being the tech guy as well as wheeling a kart, he could do it all."

The pro classes purse may increase with the addition of sponsors and if anyone is interested in being a sponsor or wants to donate any auction items for this event you can contact Chris Carter at doublecmedia@gmail.com or call 336.541.0350.
