Mod animal help please

Trying to build a limited mod to these rules
27mm intake 24mm exhaust valves
stock stroke
piston and rod non tech
406 max lift at the valve retainer
any carb .900 no go
No aftermarket heads

WF head and piston
WF or ARC rod
epoxy the intake valve pocket
Cam??
rocker arms??? Roller?
carb ??
Any thoughts and help would be appreciated.

WF rod, at least .030 over. I'd have a .308 lift cam (ANMOD-1) with 1.3 rollers. 304wx with work or a nice 360 might do better.

Are you saying that the W/F head and piston is a requirement?

The Wf head and piston is not required. I was just thinking they would be a good choice but I could be wrong. I'm looking for options on this build to these rules.

With the .900 no go you'll have to stay away from the 360A, the 334AB was built at .900 but is a gas carb, run alky if you can and probably the best carb for it is a 304wx converted to alky and set up for your engine. The 348F would also be another choice but all the other alky .875 venturi carbs from Tilly are a little too rich. Jon

another carburetor option would be a 24 mm or 28 mm Mikuni

360C would make the no go, it's an .875 venturi with a 1.060 throttle bore. Drill pattern would probably be ok I don't think it's a real rich pattern even though it was an alky carb from Tillotson. I'd have to look at it to be sure which would be better the 360c or a 304wx converted. The new 304wxa is pretty much ready to go for an OHV. Jon
