Model 15 piston

What are you doing for a rod ?
I would not be afraid to use it .
No nitrous or exotic fuel .
Competitive racing ?
Whats the plan if it fails ?

The first thing you need to do is put a billet rod in it. Unfortunately, there is no such thing for the stock piston. However you can use a WF billet rod and bore the whist pin hole slightly to fit the wrist pin. The pin is bigger than the one used in an Animal.
A stock Model 15 has an aluminum bore and the piston is iron plated so it doesn't seize to the aluminum cylinder. My experience has been rapid ring wear at higher than 3600 rpms.

The best plan is to sleeve the block and use an aftermarket piston.
I have a variety of options for you from 14.5 with a 2.870" or 2.885" bore
or a 3.007" bore up to a 3.1??" bore Open.
These sleeves are specially made with a shoulder on the top so they can't slide down the bore.

Ok, pretty much aware how to build the 15 properly. Was wondering if the piston would be ok for an economy, mild build. So I guess I need to do it correctly or put this back on a snowblower.
