Momentum?

Who’s good with CKI/Laser karts? Picked one up this weekend thought it was a 2013 looks more like 2007 era. It’s a Momentum, from digging on 4cycle looks like they were made over a wide range of years? did not see markings on LR cassette or MC mount, anywhere else I should look? Also curious what it takes for replacement parts. It has L blocks with small king pin, looks like an ultramax plate that it bolts up to? Does not have clamshells or single tube steering upright… can get some pics tonight

Tracked down an old seller that had it a few years ago, confirmed by CKI custom built 2013. Going with that for now! Thanks for looking!

I would say Mike Dowell welded it and could probably answer any question you have about it. I'm not sure if he's still on here. but you can find him on Facebook.

I was thinking they stamped the left rear hanger until they went to the split clamshells and it seems like when they first went to the "L" blocks, they were stamping behind them. There were a couple years they didn't stamp any chassis and could have been when this was produced.

I’m thinking this was a numberless year, common consensus is 2008/10. So far no luck from mfg, got parts from CKI/Kinetik, did not fit, ran old front end parts with a generic setup. Also reached out to Mike Dowell and Donnie Nall on Facebook no replies.

Not a bad first outing $1000 to win…. 12th to 7th in heat, 7th to as high as 4th, settled for p5/12 with decent speed just need a little driver endurance for next time lol. Got some ideas for next time 👍

Kyle for info going forward based on what ya got and where your racing it, especially if it's in Pa , I'd reach out to Nathan Danner
Good Luck !!

Hey Kyle, I just talked to Michael Johnson and that used to be his kart. I told him you were looking for some info on it and he said to feel free to reach out to him on Facebook. Hopefully he can help you answer some questions!

Nathan got ahold of me when I posted on Facebook, he directed me towards Donnie and confirmed the model couldn’t pinpoint year, also reached out to Mike Johnson right away, he said CKI confirmed it was a 2013 with a “custom knee bar,” everyone I did get in touch with so far denied that…. Just a nose mount. (I’m 6’2” and my knee stops on the other side of the downtube 🙈) From what I understand CKI was a little behind on bells and whistles but the components on this kart just cannot be any later than 2010 imo lol.

Just want to know what I have and to find replacement parts, if I go to sell it one day I hate falsely advertising…. Save someone else the aggravation of driving 4 hours and it’s not what you think it is lol
