which wire would I use for the engine stop ( kill wire )? thanks for any help......

I use the wider terminal on the coil.

Jack has the answer. The primary from the magneto is the wire to the larger terminal. The other wire is your "ground" connection.

Doesn't motosplat cut off all by itself?

Only when you ground the primary side of the coil!

Best way to fit that is to make a short piece with big connector to the coil and then a short pigtail off of that to connect to your stop button, plus connectors to connect to stator wire. I get my big connectors from T.S.
