Mycron 4 Spiking.

I am having an issue with my mycron 4 spiking. our class doesn't allow over 5500. the car will run 4800 -5000 the whole race. then boom come back in and it spike to 5600 one time out of the blue.
is this common cause it's causing me races?

How do you have your mychron wired to your plug wire

Ours spiked when we ran clones. Changed from the wire wrapped around the sparkplug wire to a wire connected to the hot side of the on/off switch. Fixed the spiking.
