MYO7 Leopard

You can, but you’d need to remove all that junk first. Assuming it has a nut on the clutch side to start it. If the plan is to run it competitively on dirt LTO, that spec dry clutch has too low of a stall speed and the spec pipe is not made for that. At that point you’re looking at getting a belt drive jackshaft setup. I have a STOUT 143cc Vortex that started its life as a Rok TT until Judges Performance/CRE got their hands on it and the work it took to get it where it’s at now... well the pictures speak for themselves.

I know I need a jackshaft. But I'm racing all mod predators and the tillotson 225. I'm thinking about drilling holes on the clutch shoes like the light weight noram clutches. Just to get by for now. PS that Vortex is awesome!

Oh man, you’re gonna smoke them. Literally. LOL. These spec motors have excellent porting out the box. Even running on gas they’re still 30 HP motors. For your motor Hegar sells a belt driver hub, too. I’d go that route, get the cheap BMI jackshaft and a 3 disk gator. You can probably keep the carb on it now and run a 100cc reed pipe like a Q98/CRE6/S4.

I’m hoping Mike Cochrane hops on here and chimes in. He has converted Leopards/X30/PRD Fireballs/Vortex etc with great success.

mtk1977 do you know how to remove the wires I don't need and which ones I will need? I think I just need the one for the coil. right?

mtk1977 where do you get the jackshaft large belt hub and wheel? Buller is the only place I know of. Thanks

I would think you can get rid of everything except for the stator wires, and the red and black grounds if it’s a PVL. That’s a birky clutch instead of the 57T pulley. The standard is a 21T 30mm engine hub, 57T pulley from buller and a dry clutch on the secondary.
