National Runner Up Red Plate Build Specs

has to do with the gear rule I believe! I know it sounds crazy but it works!
Yea, It's the gear rule. The spec gear is usually very low (high number) to keep the MPH down. What happens is a red plate that should be turning barely over 5000 RPM ends up at about 6500 or more at most tracks. Here is a video from Daytona 2019. I built the motor on the winning red kart. Qualified 5th and took the lead on the first lap and drove off and left them. We turned it well over 6500 that day.

It was explained to me as follows. LONG straights with sweeping corners that don’t pull the rpm down hardly at all and a VERY FREE chassis never lifting off the throttle.
