Need help

LO 206 will fail tech with high tension springs .
The description of the issue is too vauge .
Deeper spring pockets , longer valves
Wrong keepers , bad valve , bad retainer even a bent valve .
Spring pocket wrong diameter , wrong retainer .
Wrong mechanic .

I’m doing Minibike drag racing….
But he said the springs sit on the spring pocket. I didn’t know I had to make deeper pockets for the 38 pound springs,
Would I have to do the same for the 36 pound or the world formula springs.

Faster motors has this .
Can't tell if it sitting on a small lip . Don't think so .
Face the plate pocket on a mill .
The plate may be flexing .
Rotate the spring .

WF springs.
Why are you trying to put a 308 cam and springs in an L206 though?

I’m trying to get faster. Sorry for all the dumb questions just don’t know too much on how to make it faster. Do you happen to know what pound springs are the WF & would I have to be careful with valves floating.

The pic I sent you are the stock springs my builder said he put those back in because the 38s didn’t fit

Couple things to be aware of.
If springs are too tall, they will have excess seat pressure, and will likely coil bind with the lift you have.

Also, with higher pressure springs, make sure you have the larger studs that are available on newer engines.

Too much pressure will also warp the spring seat plate, which is also the gasket surface for the valve cover.

All the above plus you have to remember it takes horsepower to compress the springs, and springs dont make additional power so you arent gaining anything really. You are doing a little bit of the stuff it takes to convert a limited engine to something its not.

I was eventually getting a bigger carb but i just got a billet rod, billet flywheel, blue ignition coil & 308 cam
I hear people run that set up with no problem.
But they did say they run the 36 pound springs

The W/F dual springs should work fine for you and will work with the 308 cam, especially if you also replace with W/F valves.

I'm guessing the 36 or 38# springs referred to above are the Dyno springs.
There should be no fitment issues with either
Spring pressure and the life of your compression release is another story.
Like JJchat said if you want to avoid compression release issues the WF springs along with the WF valves will take care of that for you.
