New or Refresh

Money race in 2 weeks. Have a BRAND new clone motor never used I can install, or run the 1 year old motor that has 2 races on it since the refresh. Some folks say new, some say a motor gets better with each refresh until about year 5 when the power drops off.

Being new to karting screams that new is better.

Feedback please....

whats the dyno sheet say ? The better power one would be my choice .

Dyno says, "No dyno, they're all dead."

Same builder. Same exact motor

Then go with what you know 2 races no problems . Thats where i'd be .

full rebuilt or refresh? if its a full rebuild 2 race motor vs a new motor it will come down to tires. IF the builder cared when he built/rebuilt the motor.
when the kart is right (gear, set up, tires) motor will be less relevant
