OLD Burris Limited Modified piston

I have a few old Burris limited Modified pistons collecting dust. Orange and white box, Cast, 2 ring, .490" wristpin (can get pictures later if needed).
I've gotten an itch to play with some of my flattys and was wondering if any old timers remember these pistons.

1- Are they any good? Would it be an upgrade over say a stock raptor 3 piston?

2- I measured about .350" from top of pin bore to top of piston. What Rod would you pair with one of these?

I saw on another thread that 5.060" is the total length of stock rod and piston,
So...
5.060"-.350" = 4.710"....? Were 4.7" rods ever a thing?

-Thanks

Need to add 1/2 wrist pin diameter to distance.
Making it about .590 compression height.

Then need 1/2 stroke from deck height.

1990/1991 are .565 -4.500 rod
1985/1986 -4.4750- rod. .590 compression height .
1980/1981 -690 compression height for std length rod .

1981,1986and1991 are chrome plated .

Would like to use one of these old school-cool pistons if I can. I've Had them sitting on a shelf for years.
Not shooting for any big power.
Of course if anyone has experience with these old pistons and says their a time bomb, I will rethink...

I ran some . still have some . never broke a piston .
If you keep it under 8500 rpm should not be an issue .
Must use chromed piston in an aluminum bore .

I've got a few single bearing, steel bore raptors in the shed.
Also some plain old Koolbore blocks. I've seen mixed opinions on boring them.
Seen some say the bores are coated, and don't last long after being punched out?
I do have one +.028' chromed piston though....

I Know a local guy who can bore/hone blocks for some donuts. Also has all the old flathead tools if needed.

I've got an old mini that's begging for a flathead, so ill probably just refresh one of the raptors with some small updates to scratch my flatty itch (y)

Just keep an eye on the skirts collapsing on those pistons.
They will work well in a good fresh round bore if you keep them tight on clearance as well -- too loose exacerbates the skirt problem or you'll yank the wrist pin right out of them.
I prefer Wiseco, BUT like Mike said, we've built hundreds of them in years past with few issues.
