Open clone questions.

I'm starting to work on an open clone, and my biggest concern at this point is enough piston to valve clearance. I am using a dyno 308 cam, honda flat top piston, and my head is being milled .050. Should I use a standard length connecting rod? 1:1 or 1:1.3 rockers? Thin or thick head gasket? Other than asking an expert, is there a way to determine what can and can't be used together? Thanks for any help you can give me.

First measure how far your piston in the hole now, determine what rod length you want, your choice on the rockers, if you are .015 in the hole , with a .010 gasket, you should be fine...but check always to make sure for coil bind, and piston to valve clearance.
