Open flat head Head gasket

What kind of gasket should I use for a open flat head. Stock. Aftermarket or copper thanks

we have always used copper or aluminum . but a stock gasket we have used in a pinch

Copper , with a thin amount of hi temp red gasket silicone applied on both sides of gasket then give it a minute or two to get a little tacky before bolting down .

If its a big bore and big valves you need to grind the inside diameter of the bore and around the valves so the gasket is not protruding into the combustion area.

^^ Good advice.
Or use the appropriate gasket part number (FelPro offers their gaskets with choice of big valve reliefs and bigger bore size.)
I generally use copper with the copper hi temp gasket sealant - (red will work fine also.)
