The New Surface a Success with Big Turnout of Cars to celebrate!

On Sunday, June 7, racers would come back after 2 weeks of being off for Memorial Day and a rain out to The New Oreville Kart Club. Over the 2 weeks the track (oval and road course) would be repaved. A record setting season car count of 63 cars would show on Sunday with 120 people in the pits. Before any cars would be run on track, we would bless the new surface. We invited everyone around the finish line to join in the blessing. Leading off the blessing would be Anthony Soberick who would lead everyone with a Prayer. The track would then be blessed by breaking a wine bottle on the new surface performed by Barry Greenzweig & Roger Snyder!

After the track was blessed, it was time to race as all the drivers eager to get on the new surface and see what the New Oreville Kart Club is like. The Sr. 2 Cycles would be the first group and Alex Greenzweig would be the first person to break in the new surface. After the round of practice every driver was excited to get out and race on the new surface which would be fast, smooth, and surprisingly a little slick! Although, the surface would make some of the best racing seen at Oreville as there was side by side racing that would go for laps on end and records being broke for fastest time! After the day was complete everyone's bucket of fun would be satisified and many saying they are going to be returning! We would like to thank everyone who donated toward the new racing surface and those who will be supporting the race track. Here are this weeks results from the exciting race day!
