Painting lead

When painting your lead white what are you guys using , mine always seems to chip or peal off during the season , I usually just spray them with white rustoleum.
 
They can be powder coated but you need to take them to someone who knows what they are doing. Other than that we just etch prime and paint with a rattle can.
 
Seymour Paint makes a (Big Rig) Fleet White #20-1613, best stuff I've found!

The company I work for sells it for around $8 a 16 oz can.
 
I've never tried it but since you brought it up... Maybe try painting with brush or roller, it will be thicker and may hold up better.
