Paypal scam

Has anyone had scamers try to get money out of you. It has to do with getting a email saying someone has purchased a hand gun for 800. You call the number and they want you to go to Target and buy gift cards so you can get your refund.

Yep. Had it happen to me. I didn’t fall for it. Here is one for ya. A guy sent me money through friends and family. Then he turned around and filed a claim he didn’t get the item. Filed a claim on me. PayPal denied him recovery of the money. Then he went through his bank to retrieve the money from PayPal. PayPal then put a freeze on the amount of money in my account until the bank and PayPal can decide what’s going on. 3 months now. PayPal tells me they are at the mercy of the bank.
