phantom gauntlet question

i bought a gauntlet and it is mint cond motor side frame rail barely has the powdercoat scratched still has all the decals from prc on it ... but my question is what made the gauntlet so bad .. i know the history behind the chassis and saw them at kartfest in hickory when they was introduced

Spring of 1999, yes Todd was on a Banshee.
Banshee released in 97, Gauntlet was supposed to replace the Banshee in 99.
That didn't happen, and racers demanded their money back

That's someone's copy.
Motor rail it totally different.
Gauntlet had 1 steering upright

Harrell wanted to race the kart Todd put on the pole.
Todd entered another kart and had to start last on the field

I also wouldn't buy a single race anecdotal account for proof of "better." Maybe a season's worth of data, after setup had been optimized for both...
