I picked up an old race kart. It is set up for oval racin, but I will be using as a play kart. I am looking for a set of tires that will probide decent grip and longevity on concrete/asphalt roads. So I get treaded tire or slicks? Also recommended brands and models please. Thanks for any input

Maxxis El tires will last longer than any other tire for what youre doing. Unilli is cheaper, but you get what you paid for, wont last anywhere near as long.

Grab a set of Dunlop and rip it up.
Don't run it on the streets, while still not completely safe a empty parking lot

No traffic?? Then why is there a road there?
Find a race track or you may very well never be back on this forum.
I'll bet you don't believe in wearing a helmet either.
Running a Kart on a road has got to make you a candidate for the Darwin award.

I always wear helmet when I rode my motorcycle. I will also on this kart. I hear you guys about safety. I found a track near by that cost only $50 for the day.
