Pinching fuel line...

Something I hear a lot with open alky two cycles is guys pinching fuel lines when fuel gets low under caution. Is this pinching the vent line to prevent from sucking air or the inlet lines?

I don't believe that's what they are talking about. A lot of us will pinch the fuel line on starts or just before starts to help clean them out after a long caution later Chuck.

Essentially lean them out and interrupt the flow for a split second... I can definitely see the reasoning now

Especially with dual carbs they do tend to make the engine too rich under caution so you can punch the line to one of the carbs during cautions.
