Pink VS EL?

Can some one down south tell me the differences in the two. Also would there ever be an advantage of running the EL over the pink in a open tire class.
 
The EL is a spec tire with a very stiff sidewall and I believe it's a synthetic rubber compound.. This tire produces very little natural bite. A pink on the other hand had a completely different tire profile and compound. Produces much more bite. I don't see a EL being faster than a pink on any given day if both are prepped correctly.
 
Pinks will always be faster. And the ELs have a softer sidewall, not stiffer. They may be stiffer when brand new but as soon as you race them they get really soft. I would never run an el against a pink unless I had to. They are generally 1 second slower per lap anywhere that I have been
