Piston stop

Needing a piston stop today . Make one or use something i already have .
Look at vibration damper puller . Might work .
Two flathead valve spring two head bolts .
It fits two side bolt holes land in the center of piston .
Adjustable too.
Worked out perfect .
Easiest ignition timing i have ever done , why i stuggled all that time when it was right there .

I took a piece of flat stock that goes across two bolt holes on the deck, drilled and tapped in the center, and threaded a bolt down through it to hit the center of the piston. A little grinding/sanding on the end of the threads and I've got an "adjustable" timing piston stop.

I'd post a picture of it, but it's starting to look it's age, a bit like me.
Maybe someday I'll break down and get it powdercoated real purty.

Good idea, here's another. Break the porcelain center out of a spark plug, thread the ID and screw a bolt down through it with a rounded end.

Yes i have one like that . Though i tapped the innside for a bolt .
That works best when the plug is directly over the cylinder. These overhead engines the plug comes in at a angle .
You can zero your degree wheel though .

One thing . I have the ability to make or buy piston stops . Too stubborn or hard headed to do either .
Now after doing it the none shade tree way , the struggles i went through too get the flywheel set right do to my stubbornness is simply amazing .
Make or buy one along with your degree wheel and flywheel holder .
Entirely too simple .
