So i got a new predator hemi to run in box stock but when i start the engine it autmatically idles at about 5000 rpm's. Any help is appreciated l. TIA

The simple solution if its untoched would be return it .
Otherwise you have a spring off , rod disconnected or something in the governor/throttle assembly not correct .
Does the hand control move the carb butterfly ?

First thing I would do .
Hold the butterfly shut with a rubber band , screwdriver or hand . start it and see if it will idle then .
Process of elimination after that .

Well the butterfly is all the way closed at closed. I did have a problem of the butterfly not closing but i have that fixed

What happens when its running is what matters .
You gotta start some where . The beginning is the place too start .
Is there a butterfly in the carb ?
Maybe revist what you Fixed .

This is unmolested .
There are only three springs . The long one too the govoner arm is the most important one .
If you start it and can control the throttle with the govoner arm .
Then two things can be .
The spring is off or conneted wrong .
Or you have moved the governor arm .
Isee this one , at rest the throttle is still partly open .
It is unstarted and untouched . Although i did switch the head .
Snow blower is the only thing else with govner and its stacked up .
Unfix it or take it back are still options .
