Prep shelf life?

I suppose this is mostly an opinion based question, but what would one consider the shelf life of most preps? I know a lot of variables like time and temperature swings come into play.

I have some SQS, black sand, goat pee, wintergreen and hot lap II that is about 6-8 years old and curious if I should keep saving it or chuck it...

Thanks in advance!

I guess it depends on the container, but I see no reason it would be a problem if it was sealed airtight.
Some plastic containers break down over time, so that might be a concern.
IF they're still sealed up, shake well and use away.
