Prepping tires for calcium

I have a question regarding prepping tires for a track that is prepped with calcium. I understand that calcium makes the track harder and faster? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Does that mean I can or should use a harder tire? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Our track uses Calcium it's suppose to help keep the moister on the top so it doesn't dry out so fast..we have to use Vega Yellows and get them soft to get any grip. We have a dry sandy track with very little grip, until the feature the it get some grip.

If you have good clay you can run a hard tire with less prep. The track can still require a soft prepped up tire in with low kart counts, cold weather, or at night with a heavy dew fall. You are right in line for daytime high kart counts.
