Pulse fitting location on CR 80 engine

Installing CR 80 engine on kart chassis; can I place pulse fitting on rubber intake boot? Or will location of reeds interfere with proper operation?

For a good pulse signal your gonna want to be behind the reeds, so the boot is not a good idea. put it in the cylinder, in the area cast for the reed cage, just be sure it clears the cage, you may need to grind it flush on the inside, I'd try to put it as far forward as you can towards the cylinder, you'll still have a fairly short pulse line. Your evidently running a pumper style carb, If it's a Tilly you can get an external pulse plate which has a fitting to make the hookup. Jon
