Qualifying tires

That depends on the track we've already qualified on same Maxxis as raced, but in general for Qualifying little more Internal prep set wiped little more outside with higher Air than for Race.
Example If to race track requires 80 cc Internal set with PRW of a few wipes of hard track prep with 6 & 5 air, Qualifying may be 90 to 100cc set wiped once or twice with a Medium base prep with 7 & 6 air, But it really is track specific and varies. Trial & Error from yourself or someone else willing to help is the only way to figure it out for sure.

We usually race a 3oz tire that’s 2 week old roll that hasn’t been wiped until you get to the track. Should I try a 4oz tire that’s been wiped and put up for a week?

Depends on how well those tires are working out for you for the race. Are you convinced there the ticket to race on ? OR are you lacking speed to race ?

That’s usually what it takes to win.
Tough to answer your question 100%, might not need the more Internal just rolled 1 week out wipe some during the week could be the ticket, Then again your on 90 cc to race 120 cc doing same as your doing could also end up the ticket, In general USUALLY little softer with more bite added and higher air than you race on.
