Rce T3 pipe flex

Trying to put a RCE T3 pipe on a RM125. Pipe doesnt quite fit into motor as pipe is too big. Is there supposed to be flex pipe between engine and exhaust? Shifter karts run flex? If so how much?

My T3 had a matching header. That said, I’d get a piece of step down that’s just enough to fill the gap. RCE went under a long time ago and their pipes/headers are pretty rare. T3 is the best shifter pipe ever made.
