Reading tire wear

I would like a little help figuring out what these tires are telling me. This is after a 15 lap run in a green plate and a 15 lap open clone feature. First is the LF 2nd is the RF

Tires are way too soft for the track conditions.
This is a good example of "feathering."

A harder compound would work better. You should see some wear (looks like graining) when a tire is working, but it should not be feathering back like pictured.
