what would happen if i shortened my rear track width. running on pavement. right now the right rear is about a 1/4 inch off the frame. the left rear is about 2 inches i think. overall width is 41 inches. still learning about this stuff and just seeing where things need to be. its on a sr champ kart

You would tighten the kart up.
While this is for a straight up sprint kart, much of it is applicable.
Asphalt is different in some aspects than dirt. Some exactly the same.
