Regular clutch temp

Wondering how hot a clutch gets during normal operating temp.
Define "normal."
When a clutch gets hot, it's generally due to slipping away power. Too much slippage leads to excess heat, which results in poor performance and damage to your clutch.
Some clutch applications see a lot of abuse, some see very little. That abuse (constant engaging/slipping) is what creates heat.
For most oval racing applications, you should be able to lay your hand on the clutch drum at the end of the race. If it's much hotter than that, then you probably need to have the clutch looked at, or at the very least adjust it to better meet your application.

I was wondering what Nirmal operating temp is.on a good working clutch.
I feel like Brian answered your question correctly above. To add to it though, a green flag only race where the clutch engages and stays is going to be cooler to the touch than a race with multiple caution flags.

Take a heatgun up too the run off area before the scales . shoot about ten of the clutchs . geta good idea of average temps .
Shoot the top 3 and bottom 3 see if theres a trend .
