Rocker arm adjustment

Can someone give me a how to on filing the rockers to adjust lift?
What is the best type of file to use, or is a dremel required?
 
it is to achieve proper running lift, iv never done it but id assume 80-100 grit sandpaper or a flat file wouldbe used. never had the need to do it myself
 
take a magic marker and color the tip of the rocker arm that rides against the valve stem.place the rocker arm back on the engine and rotate through the cycle several times as to make a mark on the rocker arm where you used the magic marker.remove the rocker arm and notice the shiny mark where the magic marker was. That is the area where you will be grinding if you want to add left grind that area towards the push rod end of the rocker if you want to take away left grind the area towards the valve stem. You will damage a few rockers before you get the total understanding of what is happening. I apologize for errors in this message my computer is broken and I need to use my phone to communicate
