Rod knock?

when I turn my crank back a forth I hear a knocking sound is this normal or is this rod knock? ps. my side cover bolts came loose and I lost some oil twice lol. using stock rod.

I believe it was slight play in the cam and crank gears

Do aluminum rods even knock ?
Maybe on a v8 .
KaKnock KaKnock KaKnock is what a bad rod typically sounds like .
A sound that's unforgettable once you've heard it .
its also a sound that you know somethings bad wrong , you won't be wondering about that.
