Scaling question

3.7 lbs according to my test .
Adding air to just one tire would change the %'s .
Adding too all 4 would the relationship stay the same ?
My scales are not here or i would test it .
3.7 pounds? From where to where? Both pounds and inches?
And how "much" does that change the percentages. Assuming you're only changing one tire.

Thanks for that information.

We're forgetting about camber and stagger affecting the shape of the contact patch.
Starting air pressure would also have an effect.

Pretty easy to make a seemingly simple concept complicated.
Lol
I hadnt even gotten to camber, toe, blah blah blah lol

3.7 lbs to maybe get the circumference larger by a 1/16, or 3.7 lbs to grow the tire a 1/16 taller? Huge difference there.

Yes circumfrence .
Standard procedure is scale at race pressure .
My guess is 99.5 teams use this method .
No that you ask thats a interesting question .
Set up a indicator , add air , Observe the result .
I've misplaced mine .

Is race pressure what you set them at to go out or what they come off the track at ? Now if your using tire warmers what happens, because the tires grow and the pressure builds under heat......

Ha ha ha -yea the number of scenarios is endless .
Lots of times i just squeezed the tire with my hand to check race pressure .
The numbers on the scale are only good for that time in those conditions .
We pitted in the sheep barn at -10 then pushed in to the arena too stage .
Something must have changed between then and the end of the race .
Still set up the scales . For before race checks .
No tire warmers either .
