The big gear vs. small gear got me thinking.
This weekend I had to shorten a chain to run the gearing I wanted. In the past I always ran a 120 link #35 chain. This week I took about 8 links out of it to get it shortened to where I wanted it. I am not sure that it changed performance at all, but I'll pose the question anyway.
Aside from engine placement for weight, is there any benefit to running a shorter chain? Could there be a performance advantage to less/more chain?
