Slide Cap “Optimized” in Sr and up classes

Question for those that perform tech. We know the rules state slide height my be optimized for restricted classes. If I remember correctly the rules actually state those classes. So for Senior, Master and other classes which run the black, stock Briggs unaltered slide can the cap be shaved? It’s not likely to give any advantage accept maybe at very low altitude where it might get the needle up out of the emulsion tube a little further when it’s already at its max setting. Performance aside, I ask because I have drivers graduating to Senior this year, and I wonder if they should get a new slide cap that was not shaved for optimizing their Junior setup. Probably cheep insurance to avoid a DQ, but wondering what you’ve seen and your thoughts.

Altering any part of the carb isn't allowed in non-restricted classes. You might be surprised that going the "other way" with the slide height could be beneficial?
