what is the difference between the vortex red and the vortex black clutch? which clutch would work the best for a flathead?
 
Vortex red uses a new driver design, it threads in the basket instead of a retaining clip holding the driver in, vortex red has 12 tab discs, vortex red has roller levers, the older blacks didnt come with the roller levers but now they come with roller levers also. I dont see a difference at all between them. Pick whatever one is the cheapest or you already have. The vortex red you have to buy a whole new set of drivers as your bully style drivers wont work..So that usually makes the black the better decision for most of my customers that ask this question.
