Starter Bobby Stull dropped the green on our 13 racers under beautiful skies. Matt Ackerman would lead the pack from the pole position into turn one.
Ted Harris would try and muscle his way into the lead from the outside but the young talented Ackerman wasn't going to have that and the two made brief contact forcing the grizzled old veteran to drop in behind Ackerman down the back stretch.
After a few more circuits Harris was perched and waiting and opportunity provided itself when Ackerman had a slight bobble coming out of two. Harris quickly scurried underneath the 75 and set sail.
Ackerman relentlessly pursued, but his mount faded in the later laps and strong runner Tom Arntz seized the opportunity slipping into second.
The checker flag flew over the competitors in the following order.
Ted Harris 2 Tom Arntz 3 Matt Ackerman 4 Ron Farber 5 Fred Delibero 6 Larry Ealey 7 Jim Counterman 8 Matt Gyurkovics 9 James Counterman 10 Ron Counterman 11 Roy Morris 12 Tyler Wagner 13 Bob Counterman
Pit note :
Mechanical issues retired Tyler Wagner in the sharp looking sedan bodied Microstock along with "Rapid Roy" Morris and the hard charging James and Ron Counterman.
Bob Counterman was bitten by mechanical issues from the get go in his debut in the #80. Gitter fixed and see ya next week.

It is hard to write an article of the race when you are concentrating on driving duties and cannot see what is happening in the field behind you. Congratulations to Anthony Wood for your win in your debut at the little bullring in the WFMT/MRL Microstock Pocono Shootout.
